IRS Efile of Tax Form 2290

E-Filing of the tax form 2290 can only be done with the help of an IRS registered and accredited e-filing partner. Hence, the tax payer has to get himself registered with an e-filing partner of repute so that no unwanted surprises crop up later.

Once the taxpayer gets the login details from the e-filing partner, he can login to their site and create his business profile using the correct spellings of the name and address. The EIN also has to be provided when creating the profile. After this, the process becomes remarkably easy as the taxpayer just has to select the tax period for which the tax needs to be paid and add his vehicle information. In case of a fleet of 25 or more vehicles, it is mandatory to file the tax form 2290 electronically.

After this, the irs e file, requires the taxpayer to fill in information regarding the payment mode and payment made along with the details of the bank account number and the bank routing number. The form should then be checked for discrepancies and mistakes and consequently submitted. On successful submission of the form, the IRS issues a receipt watermark on schedule 1 which can be downloaded and printed as proof of submission.
